Instagram DMs → Obsidian

Connect your Instagram Business account. New DMs appear as notes in your local Obsidian vault within seconds, filed into funnel stages you define.

  1. Connect your Instagram Business account

    Authorize the app via Instagram OAuth. Your access token is stored server-side and never shared.

  2. Install the Obsidian plugin

    Install Instagram DM Inbox from Obsidian's Community Plugins tab, then paste your server URL and API key into its settings. Your vault stays local, with no cloud storage involved.

  3. Work your conversations in Obsidian

    Each contact gets a profile note under Instagram DMs/<Stage>/, with their messages in a _history/ subfolder. Move a conversation between stages from the right-click menu, or by typing a trigger code at the end of an Instagram reply. Instagram DMs/_meta/Inbox.canvas holds one card per contact, coloured by stage.
